Dear Sir/Madam,
On Thursday, September 7, 2023, the Salem Board of Health was informed of a
large pile of boxes and cardboard that was illegally dumped in the Church Street
parking lot near the dumpsters in Salem. While investigating this matter several
boxes were found with mailing labels identifying you as the person these items
belonged to.
Illegal dumping is a violation of 310 CMR 19.014 (2) "No person shall dispose or
contract for the disposal of solid waste at any place in Massachusetts which has
not been approved by the Department pursuant to M.G.L. c.111, § 150A, 310
CMR 16.00 or 310 CMR 19.000."
This letter is to serve as warning that if you are identified to have illegally dump
items in this location or anywhere else in the City of Salem again, further
enforcement action, including, but not limited to monetary citations and/or a
criminal complaint being sought against you in Salem District Court will be taken
against you.
