Dear Ms. Klosowski,
In accordance with Chapter II of the State Sanitary Code, 105 CMR 410.000, Minimum
Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation, a recent re-inspection was conducted of your
property located at 11 Summer Street Unit 1 R, conducted by Jeffrey Barosy, Sanitarian of
the Salem Board of Health on August 9, 2023. At that time the following items, based on the
February 17, 2023 inspection report, were still outstanding:
Item #5: Kitchen window on right still has a broken string for the front sash's
counterbalance on the right.
Item #6: Kitchen window on the left still has two sashes that do not align properly,
preventing them from locking correctly.
Item #8: The ceiling light is in the process of being replaced with a new ceiling light.
Occupant informed inspector the Owner attempted to install the new ceiling light but
stopped because the wires were too short. Occupant also informed the inspector the
Owner would hire an electrician to install ceiling light.
Item#19: Bedroom adjacent to living room still has brown discoloration on ceiling above
entryway into living room.
Item #21: Bedroom adjacent to living room has a stand-alone window with misaligned
sashes preventing the window from locking properly. At the time of inspection,
inspector could not determine if this has been corrected because there was an air
conditioning unit in the window.
Please correct the outstanding violations and contact this office to schedule a final re-inspection
of this apartment.
All other violations noted in the inspection report of February 17, 2023 have been
corrected.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
