as described below does not involve an exterior architectural feature or involves a feature covered by the
exemptions or limitations set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic
Districts Ordinance.

Description of Work Proposed:
• Replace broken flagpole with one with the same length and diameter. The new flag pole will be in
the original mount and in the same location.
o Flagpole will be custom-made by Shaw & Tenney
o Flagpole will be 12 feet long, 2 inches thick, and installed in the existing base
o Flagpole will be painted Benjamin Moore “Linen White” to match the previously approved
trim for the house (HCCA-22-70)
This work is approved under a Certificate of Non-Applicability due to work being in-kind repairs. If any
changes to materials are made, the Applicant must submit a new application for review.
Upon completion of the above work, please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is required
to document compliance with this Certificate and approved plans.
