Dear Homeowner;
Our office conducted a required inspection on February 9, 2023 along with Fire and Health
inspectors. During the inspection there was an abundance of construction debris observed in the rear
of the property at 107 Mason Street. An inspection of the interior building revealed that the doors to
the second egress of the second and third floor units have been removed. An alternate egress door
was created that exits to a deck and back into the building. This is not allowed and is a violation of
CMR 780 1028.1.
You are directed to immediately correct the violation of the egress doors. Upon receipt of this
violation letter you must contact our office to discuss this situation. Failure to respond to this
notification will be construed as non-compliance, and will result in violations and fines.
If you feel aggrieved by this order, your appeal is to the Board of Buildings, Regulations and
Standards in Boston.
