Good afternoon,
Today we received a letter addressed to " the owner" of our house 118 North St, Salem Ma indicating
that the city believes that we run a short term rental at this address. This letter, as requested by the
lovely staff member I spoke to earlier on the phone, is to assure you that we do not, in fact, run any
such thing. We purchased the home in March of 2020 from folks who we believe did rent out via
airbnb, which may account for the assumption, but we did not continue to offer such after we took
possession of the building.
At the suggestion of the previously mentioned staff member we also contacted the D.O.R. as they
had possibly passed on a list of addresses to your office they thought to be offering short term
rentals. They were able to verify that this is our address and that we have no short term rental ID nor
income attached to our account. Though there was a bit of a round about procedure to do so, and I'm
not sure they understood why we were calling them.
