Notice:if this rental unit is occupied by a child or children under the age of 6 years, it is the property owner's responsibility to notify tenants of lead related reports and tests,and to ensure that this unit complies fully with 105 CMR 460:000: Regulations for Lead Poisoning Prevention and Control. Violations) Based upon a tenant complaint a permitted inspection was conducted in accordance with Article II of the State Sanitary Code, 105 CMR 410.000. Upon inspection, the following were noted: 24-48 hours .482 1. Smoke detector missing from basement. Smoke and CO detectors must be installed in basement in accordance with applicable codes. Owner to hire the services of a licensed exterminator to inspect and treat the building for mice; treatments must continue until the problem is abated. Inside the front left corner of the basement there is staining, cracking and mushroom growth indicating a possible leak. Investigate for leaks in the foundation and repair/address so the leak does not reoccur; seal cracks in basement and remove any mushrooms/mold resulting from the moisture. Owner to correct this violation within 7 days. 7 days 500 4. There is also evidence of a leak at the basement window on the right side of the house (staining and mushroom growth). Investigate for leaks around the window and repair/seal at foundation so leak does not reoccur, and clean/remove any mushrooms/mold resulting from the moisture. At the time of inspection, the tenant's main was shut off and it was observed that many basement lights went out and the furnace shut off(furnace services both units in the building). Owner to hire services of a licensed electrician to install a house meter to properly wire common fixtures to; all basement fixtures, the furnace, and anything in the second unit wired to the first floor meter must be properly metered.
