It is hereby certified that the Salem Historical Commission has determined that the proposed:

as described below does not involve an exterior architectural feature or involves a feature covered by the
exemptions or limitations set forth in the Historic District's Act (M.G.L. Ch. 40C) and the Salem Historic
Districts Ordinance.

• Install an A/C minisplit system
o Condenser to be mounted at the back of the house on roof of one-story rear ell
o Condenser footprint to be approximately 36 inches by 36 inches
o Power and one set of coolant lines to be run on east wall into house
This work is approved under a Certificate of Non-Applicability due to work not being visible from a public
way. Should the Commission determine after installation that the condenser and/or coolant lines are
seasonally visible, the Commission will work with owner on appropriate mitigation to screen visible items.
Upon completion of the above work, please notify Historical Commission staff as final sign-off is required
to document compliance with this Certificate and approved plans.
