Subject: Rat problem in Hanson/Boston/Nichols Street area
Hi Larry,
As discussed before last nights City Council Meeting, I am sending you an email regarding the rat
problem in the Hanson/Boston/Nichols Street area. I have personally seen rats running in my yard
and going into the foundation of 6 Nichols Street. If you want to check out the problem please contact
me or Leo Jodoin at 8 Hanson Street. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Have a great day,
Jerry L. Ryan

Mayor Kimberly Driscoll
City of Salem
City Hall
93 Washington Street,
Salem MA 01970
Dear Mayor Driscoll,
The BOH rodent control budget(Org: 15102, Object: 5785)has been exhausted as at December 31, 2012. I would be
grateful if the line can be increased by another$1500, to cover the rest of this FY.
The unusually warm 2011/2012 winter has led to an increase in the rodent population and secondarily increases in
calls from residents to treat their storm drains for rodents. While it is our hope that a cooler winter this year will
reduce the problem, it is anticipated that there will be a population increase again because of the larger population we
are starting with. Hence the need to continue the treatments and provide this important public health service to our
residents.
Again I will be grateful if we can have an increase in this line to cover this much needed service
Yours Very Truly
Larry A. Ramdin
