Dear Ms . Bacall ,
As requested , on July 23 , 1987 accompanied by Inspector
Martineau of this department , I inspected the exterior fire
escape at Hamilton Hall .
The inspection revealed considerable deteriation of the metal
which comprises this second means of egress from the second-
floor , giving me cause to question it ' s structural stability .
In view of this , I must insist that the proprietors engage
the service ' s of a structural engineer to look into this
matter and to advise this office in writing of their findings .
Respectfully ,
William H Munroe
