CARPENTRY* Pull a building permit if the building inspector wants one. Most siding replacement building permits are non-inspectional. Rear wall: Remove the siding; dispose of the siding; install tyvek; reflash above doors and windows; install smooth Hardie Plank siding using stainless steel nails. Replace all the molding around the windows with a paintable pvc. It does not include the facia (the flat board). Replace the vertical facia on both ends of the wall and the horizontal piece at the base of the wall with Azek, a paintalbe pvc. Replace 3 window sill with pvc sills. Replace 1 door. (Door allowance of$200 is included in the estimate.) Left wall: As you are going down the stairs on the left hand side of the house replace the first board on- the right the first 2 feet. Right Wall: Replace the first 10 feet of the siding. Using the same system as specfied above except we will will use cedar siding. Replace 12 other clapboards on this wall. Replace the right comer boards on the dormer with pre-primed pine. Replace the two bottom clapboards on the dormer wall. GUTTERS LOCATION: Install gutters and downspouts on the rear soffit of the house. Because of the lack of slope on the roof we will install lead flashing from inside the gutters to up under the roof flashing. The lead will ensure that the water actually gets into the gutters. INSTALL: Install 5 inch seamless aluminum gutters. IftTAILL: Install 2 inch by 3 inch aluminum downspouts. EXTERIOR PAINTING MINOR MAINTENANCE CAULKING: Caulk all gaps and cracks. AREAS TO BE PAINTED SIDING: On areas we replaced. Apply 1 full coat of primer. Apply 2 full coats of finish. TRIM: On areas we replaced. Apply I full coat of primer. Apply 2 full coats of finish.
