Mike Duffy, Chair City of Salem Zoning Board of Appeals 98 Washington Street Salem, MA 01970 Re: Request to Amend 40B Traffic, Safety, Circulation and Mitigation Requirement Dear Chair Duffy: The North Shore Community Development Coalition was issued Comprehensive Permit 40B for The Lighthouses (34 Peabody Street & 47 Leavitt Street) by the Zoning Board of Appeals on November 29, 2017. The project is in active construction and is expected to be completed in spring 2023. North Shore CDC seeks to make a minor amendment to condition 4c. Traffic, Safety, Circulation and Mitigation at the 47 Leavitt Street site. North Shore CDC seeks permission to remove the automated parking arm at the garage entrance on Naumkeag Street as required by condition 4c. Naumkeag Street is considerably more residential than the 34 Peabody Street site and sees less foot traffic. The audio visual alarm system would remain.
