EICEIVED
TO THE BOARD OF APPEALS:The Undersigned represent(s)that they are the owner(s)of a certain parcel of land located at: SEP `9O 2022
Address:13 MALL STREET Zoning District:R2 DEPT. OF PLANNINGCOMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
An application is being submitted to the Board of Appeals for the following reason(s):
We are proposing a dormer addition to my home located at 13 Mall St in the R-2 Zoning District. The Zoning Ordinance requires a
ma)amum of 2.5 stories. The proposed addition would create a 3-story structure.The dormer is set back 1'from the exterior street
side of the building. The e)asitng lot is non-conforming in size and the eAsting structure does not meet required setbacks.
For this reason,I am requesting:
[]Variance(s)from provisions of Section of the Zoning Ordinance,specifically from .
LIM@j A Special Permit under Section Section 4.1.1-a 3 story structure where a 2.5 max is allowed of the Zoning Ordinance in order
to To allow for more headroom on the third floorfor a bathroom.
L]Appealing a Decision of the Building Inspector:
L]Comprehensive Permit:
Current Property Use:Single Family Residential Are Lot Dimensions Included:No
The Undersigned hereby petitions the Board of Appeals to varythe terms of the Salem Zoning Ordinance and allow the project to be
constructed as perthe plans submitted,as the enforcement of said Zoning BpLaws would involve practical difficulty or unnecessary
hardship to the Undersigned and relief maybe granted without substantially derogating from the intent and purpose of the Zoning
Ordinance.
Statement of Hardship(for Variances):
Statement of Grounds(for Special Permits):
The proposed dormer addition shall not be more detrimental than the eAsting nonconforming structure to the neighborhood. The
proposed shed dormer is setback from the front and rear of the building. It will not impact the traffic flow,safety of the neighborhood,
utilities,public safety,or drainage.The shed dormer is in keeping with the character of the neighborhood.It is a proportionate addition
to a small lot and building.
