Re: Maintenance of Grease on Roof
Dear Mr. Drivas,
I am writing to,you as the managing agent of the Residences at Museum Place
at the request of the unit owners.
Despite previous requests that the rooftop cooking vents of your establishment
be properly maintained and cleaned to remove excess grease there continues
to be a situation where your lack of such maintenance creates an unsanitary
and deleterious situation on the property of Museum Place. In light of the recent
catastrophe in West Roxbury the members of the Trust feel your lack of attention
to this ongoing problem is even more acute.
As has been previously communicated to you, the vent system deposits grease
on the roof which is then washed into the gutter system and deposited on the
parking area of Museum Place and on the patio and cars of some building
residents. One resident of the building has paid to have new gutters installed on
your building and to have the roof steam cleaned at her expense on previous
occasion in addition to having your air conditioning condensate flow
addressed.
In an effort to be good neighbors the Trust has refrained from involving local
authorities in this matter, despite the evident lack of action on your part and
would like to reconcile the problem cooperatively with you. As such, the Board
of Trustees of the Residences at Museum Place requests a written response as to
how and when you will address the issue of grease accumulation and
containment. Such response is required within 10 days of your receipt of this
correspondence.
Since this same appeal to you has been made previously and without any
response or action on your part, please be advised that such failure on your part
will result in the filing of formal complaints with all governing inspectional services
by the Board of Trustees.
