Dear Owner,
This Department has been notified that individuals are trying to register to vote in two apartments at 11 Central
Street. The City records, as well as those in the Building Department, have no records of apartments being built.
Per the authority of the Mass State Building Code,a required inspection is needed. The inspection is scheduled
for 10:00 am on May 27. All areas of the building will need to be accessible. If you have any questions,please
contact me directly.
If you feel you are aggrieved by this order,your appeal is to the Board of Buildings,Regulations and Standards
in Boston

Fire Prevention department . This letter requests a written state-
ment from the manufacturer or distributor of products which will
be used in the .renovation of the Fraternity building with regard
to flash point or flame spread capabilities.
We would appreciate your forwarding a copy of this statement
to this office also when you present it to the fire Department .

Sir:
It is the policy of the Salem Fire Prevention Bureau, in regards
to acceptance of any material, substance or product, not easily
determined as to flash point or flame spread capabilities ; to re-
quest a written letter from the manuafacturer or distributor of
said product stating its approved rating.
This then places the responsibility for our subsequent approval,
upon the written statement of some qualified engineer, chemist or
the Underwriters Laboratory.
The field of fire prevention has become so broad today, that this
remains our only means to fulfill our duty to the citizens for their
complete protection.
