District: McIntire Address of Property: 18 BROAD STREET, SALEM, MA 01970 Name of Owner at time of Submission: PICKERING FOUNDATION Applicant's Description of Work:The Pickering Foundation received a CPA grant to partially fund the repair and maintenance of the fagade of the Pickering House.In addition,other deteriorated 1851 Gothic features on the house and adjacent barn will be replaced to match existing design and materials.All architectural features will be repainted to match the existing color.Repairs will be done as conservatively as possible to preserve original materials.The only visible changes anticipated will be minimal flashing over window hoods and other areas where water intrusion may occur along critical surface junctions.Most window hoods are already flashed with copper and painted to match existing house color.A temporary sign,provided by the City,will be erected to recognize CPC funding for the project.
